Maine Family Memorial Scholarship A Project of Student Scholarships
Help carry on Don's legacy by making a gift today
This scholarship was established in 1989. Donald W. Maine served as president and chancellor of Davenport College, and under his leadership the college expanded to include ten campuses, making it the largest independent college in the state of Michigan. Through Mr. Maine's guidance, Davenport developed from a college offering only associate degree programs to a fully-accredited university providing undergraduate, graduate and online degrees. Mr. Maine served as president and chancellor from 1977-2000, introducing bachelor's degree programs in the 1980's and master's programs in the 1990's. This scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating academic potential and financial need, with preference given to a student from a foreign country, a single mother, or any full or part-time student demonstrating the above criteria.
